BOTOX® is your way to fight the hands of time. Wrinkles and age lines happen. Through a lifetime of contact with sunlight, heat and cold and other outside forces, we all inevitably develop these creases and lines. Over time, the cumulative effect of these lines can leave us looking tired or run down.
But just because wrinkles happen to everyone doesn’t mean we have to live with them. At Prestige Medical Rejuvenation Center, our friendly, knowledgeable staff has a variety of ways to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. One of those methods is BOTOX®, the industry’s leading injectable treatment for reducing wrinkles. Learn more about Botox.
How Does BOTOX® Work?
Botulinum toxin type A is a naturally occurring neurotoxic protein. While potentially dangerous in large doses, scientists harness the numbing effects for use in medicine, research, and cosmetics. By using a purified, weakened form of the protein, BOTOX® manages to relax the muscles underneath the skin. The relaxation removes the tension causing the age line, thereby smoothing out the overlaying skin and returning the appearance of youth. BOTOX® is particularly effective against facial lines such as crow’s feet and frown lines.
BOTOX® treatments are quick and easy with no anesthesia required. Before the procedure, our provider discusses your desired outcomes for the procedure. Following that, BOTOX® is injected directly into the problem area using an ultra-fine needle. Any discomfort usually experienced with the injection clears up almost immediately. You are free to return to your normal daily life and can expect to see results within a matter of a few days. The benefits generally last up to three to four months.
When receiving BOTOX® injections, it’s important that your doctor uses the correct doses. Overuse can cause “frozen face,” a condition which leaves the patient unable to show emotion through facial movements. The team at Prestige Medical Rejuvenation Center are well-trained and experienced. Darin Jackson, MD, Prestige’s Medical Director, provides oversight of the medical team.
